There are two catogries for 12v car battery,one is Dry charged car battery,another is Maintenance free car battery(MF).
The difference between this two different type is that :

Maintenance Free Car battery (MF Battery):A new battery can be used without charging and adding liquid. During the usage, it’s never need to add any liquid.
Dry charged car battery:It is a another type wichi is opposite to MF Battery.Once it is used up,you need add liquid to let it start again.
