INSTRUCTION MANUAL
FOR BATTERY CHARGERSWITH START
Congratulations for the selection of this product which has been designed with great
care.To get the best of it, please read carefully following recommendations.
I / POWER SUPPLY
If you want to get the best of your product, adapt a plug for 20 A supply.
Always use a plug with earth connection. Otherwise, serious danger of electrical
chock..
In case of cable extension, use 3 (or 4) x 2.5 mm².
II / CHARGING MODE
These models require supervision by the user of the charging process.
1-Use an indoor well ventilated premise.
2-Remove the battery caps if available and check that the level of liq uid is correct; if
not, top up with distilled water. Clean well the battery termina ls.
3-Switch off the power supply by putting the commutator on Stop position, and
select position 1 for charging current. Then, plug in your equipment.
4-Select the correct voltage 12 or 24 V by using the right Dinse connector.
5-Connect the cla mps (+ red, - black) to + and battery termina ls,making sure you get
a good electric contact.
6-Switch the commutator to charging mode, and switch interruptor on the right to
position1.
7-After one minute charging process, adjust the charging current by the 3 positions
commutator. A normal charging current should not exceed 1/10 of the battery capacity.
8-Stop charging when your battery starts to boil. Be careful about explosive gas, avoid
fla mes or sparks.
III / STARTING MODE
You should proceed as before and charge your battery for a few minutes and then :
Switch to start position, go and start your vehicle, and then switch back to stop
position.
Do not use the start position more than 5 seconds at a time. Allow 2 minutes for
cooling. If your equipment goes under thermal protection, the light will show on (wait
10 minutes around).
IV / NOTES
Never start your vehicle while charging. In this case, a circuit breaker will be activated
and you will have to put it back in position ma nually.
In case of short circuit or reversed polarity, the fuses in front of your equipment may
break (art. 054486 = 10 fuses kit. Use two fuses each time). Make sure you screw
properly the fuses.
